I've always been fascinated by trees that grow alone, in a vast area with no other trees. Was a seed dropped by a bird? Somehow, the images remind me of myself...
#2 is the Lion King. #4 reminds me of Six Feet Under. #8 is like Big Fish.
The Christmas one is my favorite. I'm more of a white-loving kind of boy rather than a black-loving one. Always liked the way white snow can cover trees, mountain tops, practically consuming everything as it falls from the sky.
Are trees becoming extinct? Are they going the way of whales and other species? Once upon a time there were trees all over Europe and North America, what happened and, more importantly, what is happening today? Are we trying to obliterate trees so that one of the pictures might well be the future that we are too blind to see?
(AV is ranting again... I'll go home and dring)

Took a moment from homework to appreciate these pictures of trees again. I still like the snow white one best, but #1 is so beautifully old/sad/tired and #3 is so natural and peaceful.
So cool that you appreciate them so much, makes me realize that sometimes I am so much in a hurry I need to take time to properly see the images I have posted. I like the fourth one, and it has as much to do with the vast sky as the lonely tree. I have always been a fan of model rocketry, and occasionally become avid with kite flying. Open skies make me feel... comfortable. I sometimes dream of moving to somewhere like Kansas, and sitting in my farmhouse, reading, writing, posting. I'm sure the property is less expensive than Houston, and the traffic, well, almost nonexistent. Alan
