Those are some beautiful images. Nude photography, especially in black and white, is a very primal and honest way to look at the human body as a form of art. It's like taking a secret peek at the essence of humanity. Very cool!
I've just taken a look at the physics behind a pinhole camera. Pretty fascinating way it works and it really does create very thoughtful art.
It reminds me of my appreciation for my own ability to stare at a picture for more than a few seconds and actually think. Some people lack the capability to view art. They just don't 'get' it and I think it's sad but it can't be helped.
Very interesting. Both the pictures and the concept behind them. I did visit the photographer's site and read the commentary. I don't know that color would have worked nearly as well for nudes but now I wonder about otehr subjects...
Douglas- There are lots of pinhole camera photography sites and the images are interesting. A lot of them are distorted, the colors look... different. I want to eventually post osme other varied images. Alan
Michael- Yes, I also am a starer. I absolutely love the nude oils of Amedeo Modigliani. Check them out online. I have seen a few in museums and it is always hard to break away, they capture me. Alan
When I was studying art in college and took my first photography class, all the boys got extremely stupid when it was time to photograph the model (before that it was mostly fruit and flowers). I felt sorry for the model. But yeah, Black and white is gorgeous - makes everyone have luminous skin. Alan - I did my BA thesis on Modigliani. His women are so sad. I get a feeling of sadness from these photographs - beauty yes, but sadness too. The ultimate in sad nude oils is Egon Schiele. You just want to wrap those women up in a blanket and tell them it'll be all right.
Beth- Thesis on Modigliani, a woman after my heart. Yes, I think I could agree, they have a certain sadness, but on some level it has always come through to me as a calm, a peacful acceptance of the sadness. My finding that attractive might justify someone else's thesis in Psych... Egon Schile, Yes, again, you are right. The first time I saw one of his works of a gaunt, tortured woman, hirsute and open, I was much younger and it shocked, almost scared me, lol. Still, beautiful works, bold and strong. Wish I had a couple to hang in the living room! Alan
Cool Alan, I hadnt heard of that before so it was interesting to read of the photographer and why he photographs with this type of camera....i like his images

Yolanda,
Yes, they are so nice looking, glad you like the images, please visit the photographer's site.
Embee,
Very well spoken. The pihole camera lends a certain random fuzziness also that adds to these I believe.

Beautiful work! I am amazed that she gets so many interesting compositions especially after reading about how she works on her web site.
I see naked people - very stirking images - b&Ww is sometimes so much more effective
VanDerHoekArt- And guess whose art will be featured tomorrow on Robot Nine? YOURS!
