Paradise Garden By Howard Finster

Paradise Garden is the long term project of Howard Finster, a large accumulation of found art, considered a folk art masterpiece. Like so many of these personal visions his has a religious bent, interesting artistic pieces with a moral attached as in image three where we are reminded of "what happens to drunk drivers".
Image four is a great portrait as if you look carefully Howard's coffin is behind him. Finster said local funeral home asked how they could help with the project and donating his coffin was the only thing he could think of that he needed.
The Coca-Cola shaped bottle, covered with religious verse, is typical of his work. Biblical dogma plastered on consumer culture is a constant product of Finster's creativity.
The last image of the angel, wings and banners emblazoned with verse, is an iconic image of Finster's work.
Paradise Gardens is located about a hundred miles northeast of Atlanta, Georgia, available to visit by appointment only. Visit the site dedicated to restoring Finster's work, and the "official" Howard Finster site. Much to Finster's values you should be careful searching for Paradise Gardens online as you may end up at a nudist resort or the X-rated paradise of Islam.
