Burj al Arab Hotel Lets Tiger Woods Hit Balls Off Of Helipad!

Burj al Arab (Tower of the Arabs) Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is one of the tallest and most luxurious places to stay in the world. Rising 1,053 feet above the Persian Gulf the hotel was built in three years. The artificial island the hotel stands on took three years to build before construction on the building could even begin.

As tall as the hotel is there is one other hotel that has been completed since Burj al Arab was built. It is called The Rose and is also in Dubai. The hotel is linked to the mainland by causeway and offers a helipad to guests arriving by air. As tall as the hotel is the suites are large and there are only 202 rooms available.

Looking upward into the world's tallest atrium, everywhere you turn in the Burj al Arab there are architectural designs and features that catch the eye.

Another impressive view of the kitschy and colorful interior design, kind of like Scarface with a little more taste. A little more.

Fountains, giant artworks, expansive and soaring vistas, and this is just the lobby. Designers seem to have gone overboard with detail and lighting effects, possibly because the view from the rooms is ocean and sand and more ocean and sand.

The Royal Suite is the most expensive in the hotel at $28,000 a night! Don't worry though, smaller suites are available for only $1,000. A hotel version of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it".

Al Muntaha (highest, ultimate) offers diners a view of Dubai from 600 feet above the Persian Gulf and is accessed from an elevator with a panoramic view. Al Mahara (The Oyster) is found at the end of a simulated submarine voyage. Diners enjoy a huge aquarium and food good enough for Conde Nast to rate the restaurant one of the ten best in the world.

At night colored lights are played along the structure in a symphony of light representing fire and water.

At those prices make sure you take advantage of the complimentary chauffer driven Roll Royce vehicles. Handy for those little shopping excursions to downtown Dubai. Most hoteliers acknowledge a five star rating system and agree that Burj al Arab is a 5 star deluxe accomodation. The hotel itself has declared itself to be 7 star!

Along with the publicity angle of a 7 star self-rating, the hotal hired tennis greats Andre Agassi and Roger Federer to play a practice game on the helipad before the Dubai Duty Free $1 Million Men’s Open.

Tiger Woods also spent some time on the helicopter landing pad hitting golf balls over the edge into the sea below. For playing in the Desert Open and hitting a few balls from the pad Tiger was paid 1 million dollars. That's guaranteed no matter whether he won or lost the game. So that's where your $28,000 dollars for a room goes...
