Dan Lacey, Painter Of Pancakes, Creates Susan Boyle Collection!

Now that's a happy Susan Boyle. Unlike the Robot Nine readers who we first introduced Dan Lacey to. We featured several posts of "bad art" and many featured President Barack Obama. This caused us at Robot Nine to receive our first hate mail, which made us very happy.

She does have talent.

Unfortunatley we have adjusted the comments back to the old system which seems easier to use and all of the old nasty comments were lost. Yes, we are as sad as you are.

Here's Dan painting at his finest in his genre, the pancake portrait. When we say bad we mean bad in the context of accepted norms. Funny; paint a pancake on a head and some (like us) say it's bad, but when Magritte paints an apple on a head it's freaking genius. (Some comments said we needed an art eduaction. We would challenge these same folks to a test on art history at any time, and we would clobber them.) By the way, after all the nasty notes stopped Dan himself wrote to thank us for the coverage. Nana Nana Boo Boo!

Truth is, the dirty little secret is out. We actually like many of the "bad" paintings, and Robot Nine would say that owning a Lacey might be a smart move. Who knows what the future holds. Several decades ago my Dad told your Dad to buy a Warhol and your Dad said it wasn't bad art but he didn't want a painting of a Brillo Pad box.

Up close and personal with Susan Boyle.

Check out the link to Dan Lacey at the bottom of the post. He paints a wide assortment of different people and subjects and recieves a lot of media coverage.

Keep a stiff upper lip Susan, this is just the beginning of a new autumn of life career.

Dan painted Susan with her cat here, though this is not really her cat. Soon after the world became aware that Susan actually did have a cat named Mr. Pebbles who bore an uncanny resemblance to this cat. Coincidence? I think not.

As we were finishing this post Dan e-mailed us a file of his latest painting of Susan Boyle, finished just tonight. Another coincidence?

Find out what Dan is up to, where he is being reported on, and link to his art auctions or order a custom piece at his blog Faithmouse.

ah, Alan, those poor hate-emailers have no where else to have an opinion. Just one more reason why you are here on earth, providing another much needed service. Perhaps canonization is in your future.
Lacey's work is amazing and if I had an extra dime (so I could save LOTS of them) and wanted something more to dust I would consider an investment.
Too bad I do rabid guard dog well....
I love the paintings.
I'm sort of disappointed with the lack of pancake representation in these pieces, however he makes up for it with the painting of Boyle doing a duet with her cat, Hilarious!
PS. Robot9 sucks. I come here everyday to enjoy the crappiness that this website provides. Hows that for hate mail?
Chihuahua - Find the extra cash or don't come crawling to me when twenty years from now they are worth a hundred-thousand.
Adorabibble - Read the bext comment, some "hate mail" got past you.
Danarchy - Ouch!
So I'm scrolling and scrolling and wondering, where is Mr. Pebbles, where is he!? and sure enough, there he is belting out a song with his human friend (and I'm sure it's "Memory") but alas, I too, was hoping for some more pancake and syrup goodness.
