Bar Is Built Into The Hollow Trunk Of This Tree In South Africa!

This Baobab tree in Limpopo, South Africa is one of the largest living things on Earth, and one of the oldest. Carbon dating indicates the tree was a tiny little sapling when the pyramids were still unbuilt in Egypt. That's old, but the real reason people visit this natural wonder is hidden inside the tree.

At about a thousand years old Baobab trees begin to become hollow, leaving a space inside. The outer edge of the is tree is over six feet thick and the hollow spot is large enough for a full service bar! The bar is designed to hold fifteen but the owner admits to having as many as 50 guest squeezed into the tree.

So the next time you are in Limpopo, South Africa stop in at the Baobab Bar and have a cold brew and enjoy a game of darts.

You might even amble down and visit the cellar where the beer is kept in the cool earth!

Bus Stop Bench Has A Built In Scale That Weighs Bus Riders!

Robot Nine is not exactly sure where these images were taken as they came in via e-mail. It appears to be in Europe. The city fathers were thoughtful enough to install scales in the seats of bus stop benches, scales that prominently display your weight to everyone on the street. (In kilograms) Hmmm... I was thinking this would not be popular in our hometown of Houston, Texas, one of the fattest cities in the United States, but I just thought of two other things.1.- People here are so heavy they would soon break the scale.2.- Nobody in Houston EVER rides the bus!

Weird Things To Buy In Foreign Supermarkets That Make Interesting Souvenirs

Robot Nine found this neat collection in a travel article that had the great idea of skipping t-shirts, seashells, and mass manufactured junk when looking for souvenirs in foreign countries. They suggested, and it's a good idea, finding odd things in exotic supermarkets that aren't readily available in the United States. Funny.


Bear Soup. Wow, that sure seems like something hard to keep up a decent supply of, but maybe it's just clever marketing for, um.... some other meat!

What makes coconut juice just a little bit better?Meat, of course.

I think I'll just ask for sponge pudding and not suffer the eternal wrath of my traveling companions.
