Julian Beever And His Amazing Three Dimensional Pavement Art!
A very three dimensional look to the word 'world', keep in mind that this is a flat, two dimensional painting. Julian has placed himself to appear to be supporting the 'W' and the young lady is simply on the ground quite a distance away. Weird!
This painting of a giant frog seems to hover over the child. Almost worrisome.

Here is the completed artwork with a young boy standing on the piece. At first glance it sure seems the boy is on top of a concrete pedestal admiring the work. The pedestal is part of the art.
Fantasy huge butterfly about to alight on a lucky young man's hand. Occasionally a person says his work is grafitti but almost overwhelmingly Julian says the response is positive.
Poor Julian atop a beer bottle begging the girl for a sip. He actually is quite a ways down the block kneeling at the top of the flat painting. We're guessing by the girl and the subject matter that this painting was done in Germany for Oktoberfest but we are not sure.
Looks like the man at the top right corner of the painted hole in the ground is just missing a tumble into the construction site. It was a worksite exactly like this that inspired Julian to begin painting anamorphic street art. He saw tiles in a street removed and began attempting to duplicate the effect of depth.
Wow! Everything is fake. The drain, the water in the street, the hose and hose reel, even the water coming out of the hose and splashing on the street below.
Sure they are smiling now but wait until they see the crocodile! Oh, all painted, sorry.
This jazz band is literally busting out of the pavement of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Looks like a seal has popped up from a watery hole in the street and is wreaking havoc on Julian's art supplies! Julian creates these works with chalk, not paint. Rain is a constant fear as the works can take up to three days to complete but he says he usually gets the work done without incident.
Work has come to a stop on this busy street as the crew has busted the pavement and revealed a mosaic buried in the Roman ruins.
Julian is posing in front of a whimsical artwork that shows Felix the Cat dressed as a dragon. It happened to be the Chinese Year of the Dog, and Chinese New Year, so I guess Felix was out to get the last laugh for the year.
Politicians being sucked into a pit. Hell perhaps? This is surely a popular work, wouldn't you believe?
A creepy work called 'Baby Food' has a giant lobster threatening to eat a child if you so dared to pose them in the bowl.
Here the anamorphic technique becomes much more clear as you can see how distorted the image of the lobster is when viewed from the incorrect spot. Look at the previous image agaiin and see the amazing transformation.
Another great shot of a distended painting, obviously Earth, but not making any sense at all.
When viewed from the correct angle, especially with Julian adding a little perspective by standing at the North Pole, the artwork becomes amazing.
A dungeon right in the middle of a city street!
Snata Claus looks surprised when Julina discovers his secret workshop just beneath the streets. He will be even more shocked if the artist drops the child!
This huge flying insect has just fallen vicitm to the bug spray that Julian has shot him with. One of his creepier and icky kind of works.
A very cool self-portrait that comes alive when Julian joins the image and appears to be looking into a mirror, or drawing himself, or both. If this were 'The Twilight Zone' soon Julian would find parts of his 'real' body becoming erased, vanishing.
