Ron It is rely bad art. But what saves it is that it is not pretentious art. It is no more than a painting and not soppy and ass kissing in any way. That is why it can be on a mag cover. But however I predict it never will be regarded as having a historical relavance as art.

I'm Ron Keas, the artist who painted the DC1 Team Player on this site. I've been a fine artist for over 40 years, having been published in dozens of books and magazines. One of my Obama paintings was in the Inaugural calendar, two more on the front page of the NY Times. I don't think my Obama basketball player should be called bad art, or compaired to childish drawings.
Even the childish drawings shouldn't be calle bad art. Take a look at the recent painting of Picasso that sold for 120 million. The writer of this blog whould probably call it bad art.

Robot Nine Is For Ass Faces - We are happy your education is being put to good use, as they say. There is not a large market for the ramblings of pompous art majors to repeat what their professors have instructed them to think.
Your taken name on this site tells me you may have to let that education mature, as well as yourself.
BTW, Dan Lacey, the painter of pancakes, and one of the featured bad artists, agress it is bad, thanks us for posting his bad art, and is painting a portrait of me, of all people.

i guess i can respect your opinion if you actually don't like these works, but you honestly don't know what you're talking about if you think it's bad art. Being an art major i get to critique a lot of art work after studying many concepts and techniques. Many of these pieces display good composition, technique, and concept. To me you judge them at face value which makes it seem you don't really know what you're talking about. It's ok though because it's your opinion and it's your blog. cheers!
